Emutel Harmony

Emutel Harmony

Multi-Interface, Multi-Protocol Bulk Call Generator

Product overview

The emutel™ Harmony Bulk Call Generator and network simulator is a highly efficient, cost-effective and flexible tool, invaluable for use in the development, performance verification and pre-deployment testing of many types of VoIP, ISDN and analog equipment.
An advanced Bulk Call generator, the emutel™|Harmony’s modular architecture provides a powerful, robust platform that can be tailored to meet your current test requirements and expanded as your needs evolve. A single system can provide anything from 1 to 15 Ethernet interfaces, 8 to 120 E1/T1 interfaces, 16 to 240 analog interfaces in any combination.
emutel™ Harmony provides an integrated IP platform allowing you to completely surround a device under test. This wrap-around performance testing enables end-to-end call routing and ensures seamless communication between IP-based equipment and legacy networks.
Increasing the number of cards increases the number of processors to ensure consistently high performance. Repeatable product measurements provide accurate benchmarking. A suite of powerful and intuitive Windows based applications lets you quickly and easily design, run and review test sequences on the emutel™ Harmony:
The Harmony Conductor is a control application which lets you run scripts and view call statistics, call rates, QoS measurements and Protocol Analysis.
Test results and analysis are clearly presented in both tabular and graphical format enabling you to easily pinpoint and rectify any performance, protocol or functional difficulties. Results can be recorded and exported to other standard applications for further review and analysis.
emutel™|Harmony allows high capacity testing generating up to 75,000 simultaneous SIP calls, 15,000 simultaneous H.323 calls or 3,600 ISDN calls per system. When running Bulk Call tests, you can achieve rates of over 6 million ISDN calls per hour, 4 million SIP calls per hour and 1 million H.323 calls per hour.

Control Interfaces

Windows Applications

A suite of powerful and intuitive Windows-based applications enables you to quickly and easily design and run multiple test scenarios to verify performance, functionality, capacity and interoperability of the device under test.

Web Applications

The emutel Harmony can be controlled using an Internet Web browser, so with a click of the mouse either a single script or a number of scripts can be initiated to run, after which a test report is generated giving the status of each test.

Command Line Interface

The Harmony may be controlled by using command line interface (CLI) commands and parameters. To access the CLI, the user must login to the Harmony using a Telnet or a SSH session. After starting a telnet or SSH connection to a Harmony using its IP-Address, the user will be prompted to enter the username and password. To transfer files to and from the Harmony, a TFTP server is required on the controlling computer.

Composer

With the Harmony Composer you can design complex performance test scripts using simple drag and drop operations. Scripts are designed using the basic building blocks provided by the Component Gallery and configured using an intuitive Component Properties window.

Windows Application

The Harmony Composer is a powerful Integrated Development Environment. The composer application enables the user to manage projects, design and build scripts, view compiled scripts and manage resources all within a fully customizable user interface.
Scripts are written on virtual target hardware and with Stack Configurations that allow it to be fully configurable and used for extended performance testing. Scripts are built to produce a file that can be loaded into a target platform for execution.

Conductor

The Conductor application provides the interface through which the Harmony can be controlled. Scripts generated via the Composer application are loaded and launched via the Conductor. The Harmony Conductor application allows you to run your test scenarios as well as view call statistics, call rates and Quality of Service measurements.

Control Application

The Harmony Control is the application which is used to configure the emutel™|Harmony. The units IP address and network gateway can be changed also the firmware on the Harmony can be upgraded through the control application.

Web Interfaces Application

The emutel™ Harmony can be controlled using an Internet Web browser, so with a click of the mouse either a single script or a number of scripts can be initiated to run, after which a test report is generated giving the status of each test.
So in the likes of a manufacturing environment, newly produced equipment is connected to the Harmony, within the Web interface a button is pressed which initiates a series of tests to be carried out on the equipment. Once the tests have been compeleted a report is then produced giving details of the tests which have been run and if there have been any failures.

Command Line Interfaces

The Harmony may be controlled by using command line interface (CLI) commands and parameters. To access the CLI, the user must login to the Harmony using a Telnet or a SSH session. After starting a telnet or SSH connection to a Harmony using its IP-Address, the user will be prompted to enter the username and password. To transfer files to and from the Harmony, a TFTP server is required on the controlling computer.
