The content of the panel area depends on the button selected at the top:-

  • Physical level: For configuration of the clock.
  • Signalling link: For configuration.
  • Data link: For configuration.
  • Transdata: For configuration of the Transdata interface.
  • Loop: To loop some TSs of the current interface.
  • To TRANSIT: For configuration of the output direction of the TRANSIT interface.
  • From TRANSIT: For configuration of the input direction of the TRANSIT interface.
  • Analog: For configuration of the Analog resources and the COFIDEC connections.

- PHYSICAL LEVEL

Master clock: The Clock for Output E1/T1 signal is derived from:-

  • Current Interface: The interface input signal.
  • Internal: The CLARINET internal time base.
  • TRANSIT: The TRANSIT input signal.

- SIGNALLING LINK

Emulation mode: Behaviour on SL selected from a list of choices:-

  • Analysis only: Monitoring of BOP events on SL.
  • Simulation and analysis: Simultaneous monitoring of BOP events and simulation on SL.

Channel specification: TS allotment for SL (only for E1/T1)

  • TS time-slot: Selection of the TS whose TRANSMIT direction is alloted to SL.
  • RS time-slot: Selection of the TS whose RECEIVE direction is alloted to SL.

Idle mode: Filling between frames on SL

  • Mark idle: 'Permanent 1' after one closing FLAG.
  • Flag idle: Continuous HDLC FLAGS.

Use CCITT #7 protocol: Structure of data used to record the events monitored on SL.
In simulation mode, data type used on SL.

  • No: The standard HDLC frame envelope mode. One BOP event is generated for each frame.
  • Yes: The specific SS7 protocol mode: Event generation is carried out with processing of the frame repetitions.

56K rate adaptation:-

  • No: The selected TS is used as 64Kbits data channels.
  • Yes: The selected TS is used as 56Kbits data channels.

- DATA LINK

Emulation mode: Behaviour on DL selected from a list of choices:-

  • Analysis only: Monitoring of events on DL.
  • Simulation and analysis: Simultaneous monitoring of events and simulation on DL.

Channel specification: The TS allotment for DL can be automatic or manual. Automatic mode has priority over manual mode.

  • Selecting IE configuration: The number of the TS to be alloted to DL in monitoring mode is automatically determined from the monitoring on SL of the signalling sequence.
    The monitoring of a precise IE configuration can allow to determine:-
    • In a first step, the Call Reference of the message including it.
    • In sequence, the TS value used in the signalling sequence of the related communication, and that results in the triggering On of the analysis on DL defined by this way.
    • in a last step, the clearing of the communication, and that results in the triggering Off of the analysis on DL.
  • TD time-slot(s) Selection of one data channel (1 - 24/31 aggregated TS) of the TRANSMIT direction, which is alloted to DL.
  • RD time-slot(s) Selection of one data channel (1 - 24/31 aggregated TS) of the RECEIVE direction, which is alloted to DL.

Data link type: Structure of data used to record the events monitored on DL.
In simulation mode, data type or data source used on DL.

      None No DL.
Loop simulation and analysis Data echoed TD-RD.
BERT xxx simulation and analysis Bit error rate test - xxx bits pattern.
The test is launched and stopped by manual commands.
BERT  511 511 bits pattern.
BERT 511+ 511 bits pattern with error counting details.
BERT 2047 2047 bits pattern.
BERT 2047+ 2047 bits pattern with error counting details.
BERT 2**15 32767 bits pattern.
BERT 2**15+ 32767 bits pattern with error counting details.
Byte-TS /Wav Byte-TS or wav file selected from a choice list.
64 Kbits data source (as speech, ...).
BOP Bit Oriented Protocol. The standard HDLC frame envelope mode.
CCITT#7 The specific SS7 protocol mode.

File: For Byte-TS/Wav data source type, a complementary selection area must be accessed.

Analysis mode: Recording of the data on DL.

  • All: The data of the events on DL are all recorded.
  • Length: The data of the events on DL is partially recorded and truncated beyond a maximum length which can be edited.

56K rate adaptation:

  • No: The selected TSs are used as 64Kbits data channels.
  • Yes: The selected TSs are used as 56Kbits data channels.

Inverted polarity

  • No: The selected TSs are used in normal polarity.
  • Yes: The selected TSs are used in inverted polarity.

NRZI data encoding

  • No: NRZ data coding type at the physical layer.
  • Yes: NRZI data coding type at the physical layer.

- TRANSDATA

Emulation mode: Behaviour on the Transdata interface:-

  • Simulation: Setting up an external data-sink-source in connection with some selected TSs of the current BRI-PRI interface:-
    • Some TSs of the INPUT direction will be switched to the R output circuit of Transdata.
    • The T input circuit of transdata will be switched to some TSs of the OUTPUT direction.
  • Analysis: Setting up a data output interface in connection with some selected TSs of the current BRI-PRI interface:-
    • Some TSs of the Network/NT input of the current interface will be switched to the R output circuit of Transdata.
    • Some TSs of the User/TE input of the current interface will be switched to the T output circuit of Transdata.

Channel specification: Allotment of a TS or a set of TSs of the current interface.
The number of TSs must be identical in both directions.

  • T time-slot(s): Selection of the TSs which are permanently connected to the T circuit of Transdata.
  • R time-slot(s): Selection of the TSs which are permanently connected to the R circuit of Transdata.

Loop

Some TSs of the INPUT direction of the current interface can be connected to some TSs of the OUTPUT direction of the current interface.
In particular some TSs of the current interface can be looped.

  • To TS: The numbered TS of the OUTPUT direction of the current interface can be connected.
  • From TS: The numbered TS of the INPUT direction of the current interface, is to be connected.


To TRANSIT

Some TSs of the INPUT direction of the current interface can be connected to some TSs of the OUTPUT direction of the TRANSIT interface.
  • To TS: The numbered TS of the OUTPUT direction of the TRANSIT interface can be connected.
  • From TS: The numbered TS of the INPUT direction of the current interface, is to be connected.

Analog signals switching: Between inputs and outputs (INPUT OUTPUT) of analog resources.

  • INPUT : The related analog resource (on the left side of the arrow) receives an INPUT signal:-
    • DTMF 1: DTMF resource number 1 used to decode the Q23 dual tone.
    • DTMF 2: DTMF resource number 2 used to decode the Q23 dual tone.
    • Analog I/O 1: Linked to Analog Output 1 available on the I/O connector.
      * Not supported by USB type Clarinet Books.
    • Analog I/O 2: Linked to Analog Output 2 available on the I/0 connector.
      * Not supported by USB type Clarinet Books.
    • Handset speaker 1: Linked to Speaker output (combination of speakers 1 and 2) available on the HANDSET connector.
    • Handset speaker 2: Linked to Speaker output (combination of speakers 1 and 2) available on the HANDSET connector.
    • Cofidec 1: Analog input of the Cofidec 1.
    • Cofidec 2: Analog input of the Cofidec 2.
  • OUTPUT: The selected analog resource (on the right side of the arrow) generates an OUTPUT signal:
    • None: No item connected.
    • DTMF 1: DTMF resource number 1 used to generate a frequency signal either a Q23 dual tone or a single tone.
    • DTMF 2: DTMF resource number 2 used to generate a frequency signal either a Q23 dual tone or a single tone.
    • Analog I/O 1: Linked to Analog Input 1 available on the I/0 connector.
      * Not supported by Clarinet-Book USB type.
    • Analog I/O 2: Linked to Analog Input 2 available on the I/0 connector.
      * Not supported by Clarinet-Book USB type.
    • Handset micro: Linked to Microphone input available on the HANDSET connector.
    • Oscillator: Frequency signal. Not used.
    • Cofidec 1: Analog output of the Cofidec 1.
    • Cofidec 2: Analog output of the Cofidec 2.

DTMF1 freq: Selection of the frequency signal (either Q23 dual tone or single tone) sent by the  DTMF resource number 1.

DTMF2 freq: Selection of the frequency signal (either Q23 dual tone or single tone) sent by the DTMF resource number 2.

Oscillator freq: Selection of a frequency signal. Not used.

Cofidec(s)...: For digital connections between the Cofidecs and some TSs of the current interface.
