ISDN Signalling Behaviour: IE Edition

Buffer of IEs: The buffer can be empty, or composed of one or several IEs.
The current IE is highlighted. It can be selected from the list of choices or used-defined.

  • Current IE: Editing of the IE type:-
    • ( / ) None: No IE is defined. The line is not used.
    • (c/x) designation: The IE is selected from the list of choices.
    • (c/x) User defined ie: Values can be manually entered between the brackets (as codeset and type in the codeset). The string, User defined ie, is automatically displayed if the values do not belong to the list of predefined choices.
  • : Access to the list of choices of IE type for the current IE.
    The attributes, O and M indicate whether the related IE is optional or mandatory, according to the standard.

Coding: To edit the content of the current IE according to the standard encoding fields if any.

Hexa: To edit the content of the current IE in hexadecimal.

Up: To move the current IE up within the buffer.

Down: To move the current IE down within the buffer.

Sort IE: Option to sort the list of IEs:-

  • No: The order of the IEs within the buffer is preserved.
  • Yes: The IEs within the buffer are sorted.

Codeset shifting: Selection of the codeset shifting procedure type:-

  • Non-locking: A non-locking shift IE is automatically added to indicate the different codeset to be used for the next single IE.
  • Locking: A locking shift IE is automatically added to indicate the new active codeset.
