IP Profile Editor: Protocol Stacks

Protocol layer items: The layers for use in the protocol stack are displayed at the left of the window.

  • You can select layers and add them to the top of the protocol stack using the Add button.
  • Some layers may be unavailable for selection depending on what layers have already been added to the stack.

Protocol Stack: The current protocol stack. The stack can be modified to include more or less layers by adding (Add button) or removing (Remove button) them at the top position.

Add: To add a protocol layer item to the top of the protocol stack.

Remove: To remove the top layer from the protocol stack.

IP profile selection status:

  • The IP (resp TCP/UDP / H323 / SIP) Profile Selected indication is displayed depending on the protocol of the top layer of the stack.
  • Otherwise, the No IP Profile Selected indication is displayed.
  • There are different types of protocol stacks available according to the Clarinet interface type in use:

    • IP over Ethernet: On Clarinet LAN (Ethernet AUI, 10B2, 10BT), and based on MAC IEEE 802.3 frames.
    • IP over V120: On Clarinet ISDN (E1, T1, U, S/T with ISDN protocols or Trunk E1/T1), and based on V120 frames in a bearer channel.
    • IP over PPP: Based on PPP frames in a bearer channel.
      On Clarinet ISDN (E1, T1, U, S/T with ISDN protocols or Trunk E1/T1) or Clarinet Vseries.
    • IP over ATM: On Clarinet ATM (E3 and STM1/STS3c).
