How to Aggregate TSs over an E1/T1 Trunk

Clarinet-system supports monitoring and simulation on a group of Time-Slots on an E1 or T1 interface:

  • The Data-Link can be defined by a single Time-Slot (DL at 64 kbits/s) or a group of Time-Slots (Nx64 kbits/s). 
  • The Data Link Type defines the structure of Data.

Setting the test conditions for BOP monitoring

A new profile can be created  with the Wizard from the Template list by selecting:

  • Trunk application.
  • Profile with a description including Trunk, Monitor, PH=E1 or  T1, DL=BOP
  • Filter with a description including:-
    • DL=BOP
    • DL=BOP/Frame Relay
    • DL=BOP/PPP
    • DL=BOP/V120/PPP
    • DL=BOP/X25

Profiles resulting from the wizard are ready for BOP monitoring over B channel number 1.

Example: Modifications to monitor Frame-Relay over 4 TS's

The TS's are supposed to be 2, 4, 5, 6 for an aggregated Data Link at 256 kbit/s.

In the profile go to Interface-Spec... ->Data Link and select:

  • TD Time Slots:  2 4 5 6
  • RD Time Slots:  2 4 5 6

Warning: Any number and value of TS can be selected but the same number of TS's must be selected in both TD and RD.

Setting the test conditions for BERT simulation

A new profile can be created with the Wizard from the Template list by selecting:

  • Trunk application.
  • Profile with a description including Trunk, Simu, PH=E1 or  T1, DL=BERT
  • Filter with a description including:-
    • DL=Bert

Profiles resulting from the wizard are ready for Bert Simulation over B channel number 1.

When Running the profile, the Bert Measurement has to be launched through Manual commands:

  • Interface 1 -> DL-Bert -> Measure

Example: Modifications to simulate BERT over 30 TS's of E1

(The TS's are supposed to be (1-15 + 17-31) for an aggregated Data Link at 1920 kbit/s.

In the profile go to  Interface-Spec... ->Data Link:

  • TD Time Slots: select All + deselect 16
  • RD Time Slots: select All + deselect 16
