How to Listen to Voice/Tones over SS7 Interface

Clarinet Run-time enables monitoring of tones or voice in both directions of one B channel simultaneously with the signalling channel.

Connecting the unit and setting the test conditions:

The connections of Clarinet-Book USB units and the settings of test conditions for basic monitoring are detailed in the following page:

Profiles resulting from the wizard are ready for SS7 monitoring over two TS's of E1 or T1. The B channel should be defined by a fixed value.

Example: Modifications of profile to monitor voice with handset in B channel number 2

In the profile go to Interface-Spec... ->Analog  and select:

  • Handset speaker 1 Cofidec 1
  • Handset speaker 2 Cofidec 2
  • Select Cofidec 
    • Cofidec 1: 
      • Analysis Time-slot   select 2
      • Direction of Analysis Time-Slot: Input.
    • Cofidec 2: 
      • Analysis Time-slot   select 2
      • Direction of Analysis Time-Slot: Output.

Example: Modifications to monitor DTMF tones in B channel number 2

In the profile go to Interface-Spec... ->Analog  and select:

  • DTMF 1 Cofidec 1
  • DTMF 2 Cofidec 2
  • Select Cofidec 
    • Cofidec 1: 
      • Analysis Time-slot   select 2
      • Direction of Analysis Time-Slot: Input.
    • Cofidec 2: 
      • Analysis Time-slot   select 2
      • Direction of Analysis Time-Slot: Output.
