How to use the TRANSIT Connection on ISDN-PRI Interface

Connecting the unit

The Clarinet Book USB E1/T1 uses one of the A or B ports for simulating the User or the Network side. See the pictures in 'How to connect E1/T1 interface to Clarinet-Book USB'

The TRANSIT connection and the list of signals is described in 'Connections: TRANSIT - Interface signals'.

Setting the test conditions for ISDN-PRI simulation

A new profile can be created with the Wizard from the Template list by selecting:

  • ISDN application.
  • Profile with a description including ISDN, Simu, PH=E1 or  T1, SL=Q931
  • Filter with a description including DL=BOP

The Profile resulting from the wizard is ready for generating one outgoing call and accepting all incoming calls during ISDN Simulation

Example: Modifications to connect Transit to the B channel in Outgoing call

In the profile go to Generator... ->Comm 1   ->Edit  and select:

  • Active source: Transit
  • Select To Transit TS to define the TS number in the OUTPUT direction of the TRANSIT port which will be connected. Select the value.
  • Select From Transit TS  to define the TS number in the INPUT direction of the TRANSIT port which will be connected. Select the required value.

The Current Interface and TRANSIT interface share a common type (E1 or T1) and common Options on the Clarinet-Book USB.

Application: User simulation - Connecting B channel of the current Interface to TS 7 of the Transit

Profile resulting from the wizard is ready for Bert Simulation (User simu) over the B channel #1.

  • Connect the E1/T1 cable  to port B (From Network)
  • Connect the TRANSIT cable  to port A (From User)
  • In the profile go to Generator... ->Comm 1   ->Edit  and select:
    • Active source: Transit
    • Go to To Transit TS. Select the value 7
    • Go to From Transit TS. Select the value7

Application: Network simulation - Connecting B channel of the current Interface to TS 8 of the Transit

Profiles resulting from the wizard are ready for Bert Simulation (User simu) over B channel number 1.

  • Connect the E1/T1 cable  to port A (From User)
  • Connect the TRANSIT cable  to port B (From Network)
  • In the profile go to Generator... ->Comm 1   ->Edit  and select:
    • Active source: Transit
    • Go to  To Transit TS. Select the value 8
    • Go to From Transit TS. Select the value 8
