How to Use the Filter Set

Protocol filters

Several interfaces can be grouped together in Filter set 1 or Filter set 2 with the same protocol specifications, and have the same filtering actions (Display, Record etc.) applied to them.

To be operative, an interface must belong to a filter set. All the events from an interface which does not belong to any Filter Set are globally discarded.

Statistics filters

In the case of the statistics filters, the Filter Set definition is only used for protocol specification and then has a consequence for statistics event generation.
In the particular case of the Counter display action of a statistics filter, the counting specifications include a re-definition of the selected interfaces to allow counting flexibility for each counter.
