How to Connect U & S/T Interfaces to Clarinet USB BRI

Rules of wiring

The connection between the Line Termination (network) and Network Termination (User) for the U interface is defined as a single twisted copper pair using the 2B1Q line code.

In order to monitor the U interface it is neccessary to drop and repeat the line using specific Clarinet U connections for the LT and the NT as shown on the label.

The connection between the NT (network) and the TE (User) for the S-T interface is defined as two twisted copper pairs with a transmit and a receive direction. Monitoring or simulation for the S-T interface can use either of the S-T Clarinet ports. Events shown as TS in the Clarinet Event Editor refer to those being transmitted by the user.

  • T: Transmit direction
  • R: Receive direction

Both directions refer to the User side. Pin allocation is defined over the RJ45 connector.
